Handcrafted from reclaimed Irish Whiskey Oak, sourced from a retired barrel at Midleton Distillery in County Cork, this exceptional writing instrument is ideal for those who appreciate both legacy and luxury.
With its bright chrome trim and bi-colour German nib, this pen feels perfectly balanced in the hand, offering a smooth and fluid writing experience. Crafted in our Kells workshop and inspired by the Book of Kells, this oak-finished engraved box enhances your gift presentation:

The pen pictured was handmade by us. Your pen will be crafted from the same Irish Whiskey Oak barrel wood, though no two pieces are ever alike. That is your assurance of a pen as unique as the person who holds it. Crafted from Irish Whiskey Oak barrel staves, sourced via our Cork supplier, direct from the distillery. No separate certificate of authenticity is issued. Each pen takes approximately three days to craft.

The pen does not have the colour as advertised. Also I and the recipient a collector of fountain pens and
whiskey fan was very dissapointed, that the pen did not include a certificate of authenticity. A qr code link to a standard descriptive page is not the same.

Regarding the colour of the Irish Whiskey Oak, the wood we use is sourced from decommissioned barrel staves from the Midleton Distillery. Any variations in colour are entirely natural and arise from the whiskey distilling and ageing process itself — we never add dyes or treatments, as we wish to preserve the authenticity of the wood’s character. The difference in colour and grain pattern in the wood is your guarentee that your pen is unique.
In relation to the certificate of authenticity, we do not state that such a document is included. The barrels are officially decommissioned by Midleton Distillery and sold through a Cork-based company, from whom we purchase the staves directly. Each pen is accompanied by a digital fact sheet via QR code, providing details on the wood’s provenance and our handcrafting process.

I bought this lovely pen as a wedding gifts for my new wife.
I had the date of our wedding engraved on it so she has no excuse about forgetting the date !!
It was made from Middleton Cork Whiskey Barrel , another personal touch as she is a Cork Gurl and likes the odd Whiskey.
Fantastic craftsmanship, extremely well presented and environmentally sound.
