Irish Pens — Returns & Refunds
Summary
- Handmade pens: Each pen is made just for you, so they can’t usually be returned unless it is faulty. Please note that engraved pens and fountain pens that have been inked can’t be returned unless it is faulty out of the box.
- Accessories & Branded Pens: If you change your mind, unused items can be returned within 14 days in their original packaging and in resale condition. You cover return shipping; a small restocking fee may apply.
- Defective items: If something isn’t right, email info@irishpens.ie or send photos via WhatsApp. We’ll work with you one-on-one to find the best solution, and if a return is necessary, we’ll cover the return postage. Refunds are issued to your original payment method within 10 working days after inspection.
Handmade Pens (Custom Orders)
Every Irish Pens handmade pen is turned and assembled to order. Wood grain and colour vary naturally, so each pen is unique and images are for guidance only.
- Cooling-off period: Custom-made items are not eligible for the 14-day right of withdrawal under the Consumer Rights Directive.
- Defects: If your pen arrives with a manufacturing defect, contact us immediately at info@irishpens.ie or via WhatsApp with your order number, description and photos. We’ll work with you to confirm if a return is necessary and if so provide the return process. Where appropriate, we’ll refund return postage.
- Non-defective returns: We can accept returns of unused, un-engraved pens in perfect resale condition. Engraved pens and fountain pens that have been inked cannot be returned. If the original box is missing/damaged, a €10 replacement box fee will be deducted from the refund.
- Engraving text: We engrave exactly what you have typed into your order; we don’t proofread names or messages. We can’t accept returns for customer-supplied engraving errors.
- Misuse: We can’t accept returns for items damaged by improper use.
Accessories & Branded Pens (Non-Handmade)
- Defective or incorrect items: Contact us within 7 days of delivery at info@irishpens.ie or via WhatsApp. Once verified, we’ll replace or refund (including reasonable return shipping where applicable).
- General returns: If you change your mind, you may return unused items within 14 days of receipt. Items must be in resale condition with all original packaging undamaged. Return shipping is paid by the customer, and a restocking fee may apply. Engraved items and inked fountain pens are not eligible for return.
Refunds
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method after we receive and inspect the return. Please allow up to 10 working days for the refund to appear.
- If applicable, a replacement box fee (€10) and/or restocking fee will be deducted from the refund.
