Terms of Service
At Irish Pens, we love what we do. Our mission is to give every customer not just a great experience, but one that exceeds expectations. These terms outline what you can expect when shopping with us.
1. Shipping & Delivery
- Origin: All handmade pens and related products are shipped from our workshop in Kells County, Meath, Ireland.
- Responsibility: Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive, Irish Pens is responsible for your purchase until it is delivered or an attempted delivery has been made. After that point, responsibility passes to the recipient.
- Carrier: We only use An Post (Ireland’s National Postal Service).
- For added protection, we ship all pen orders by An Post registered post.
- Journals are shipped with a digital proof of delivery stamp via An Post.
- Refills, ink cartridges and bottle ink are shipped by standard post.
- Missed Deliveries: If An Post leaves a missed delivery note for a registered packet, it is the customer’s responsibility to follow the instructions provided by An Post.
2. Tracking & Proof of Delivery
- Ireland: Online door-to-door tracking is available for all registered deliveries.
- International: Tracking confirms the date a package left Ireland. Confirmation of delivery in the destination country may require cooperation with the local postal service.
- In line with the Consumer Rights Act, if a delivery has not arrived within 30 days of your order being placed, it will be due for a replacement or refund (unless an extended delivery time has been requested by the client and agreed by Irish Pens)
3. Fair Shipping Costs
Pens are shipped by registered post at a charge of €4 for Ireland/NI - €8 Europe/UK - €12 USA. Subsidised cost.
Journals are €3.80 actual cost, Refills & ink cartridges €1.60 actual cost.
4. Taxes & Duties
Customers are responsible for any local taxes, customs duties, or import charges that may apply in the delivery country.
