Crafted from Irish-grown Elm, sourced from the verdant heartlands of Ireland, this pen carries a rich narrative. The Elm, originating from the Midlands of Ireland, finds new life in our creations. Acquired from a retiring clockmaker, who accumulated Elm offcuts spanning over three decades, these remnants, while too petite for his craft, find purpose and beauty in our pens. Thus, the wood holds a unique significance not only due to its origins but also for its rarity.

Ink Compatibility & Writing Performance

The Shannon fountain pen is fitted with a German-manufactured bi-colour size six nib, ensuring a smooth writing experience even for the most discerning fountain pen users.

The ink flows from an international standard-sized ink cartridge, readily available from all stationery shops worldwide and also from our website. We also include a reusable ink pump (converter), allowing for the use of bottled ink, providing both convenience and sustainability.

The pen pictured was handmade by us; your pen will be crafted from the same Irish Elm wood. As no two wood pieces are the same, your pen will be completely unique. Like the pen pictured, we will select the most exciting wood to craft your pen from. It takes us about three days to prepare each pen.
