The wood used in this pen is inspired by the 200-year-old English Plane (or London Plane) tree near the Book of Kells Experience in Trinity College Dublin. That tree shares a spiritual connection with our hometown of Kells, where the Book of Kells was safeguarded from the 800s to the 1600s. With its exotic grain and orangey-tea brown hue, this wood gives each pen a naturally elegant finish.

The Hive fountain pen is crafted for daily use and long-term reliability. It features a precision-engineered, size 5 bi-colour medium steel nib and accepts international standard-sized ink cartridges and converters. Each pen comes with a reusable converter for bottled ink and a black ink cartridge, allowing you to start writing as soon as the pen is received.
