The wood in this pen comes from an Irish Whiskey oak barrel, decommissioned from the world-famous Midleton distillery in Co. Cork. We take a stave from the barrel and turn it into this beautiful pen. The colour of the oak has a lovely reddish hue, which comes from the whiskey distilled in it. Turning the pen on the lath generates heat, which liberates the most beautiful aroma of the whiskey it matured; it is like holding a glass of Irish whiskey under your nose. The link between Irish whiskey and the wood we craft the pen from, and its unique colour, makes pens turned from this wood the perfect gift for the experienced Irish whiskey connoisseur.
