In this case, English Plane wood, renowned for its exotic grain and warm, orangey-tea-brown hues.

We crafted this pen inspired by a 200-year-old English Plane tree that proudly stands beside the Book of Kells Experience at Trinity College Dublin. This wood is deeply connected to Irish heritage, especially meaningful given the Book of Kells’ origins in our hometown of Kells before it found its home in Dublin.

The pen pictured was handmade by us. Your pen will be crafted from the same English Plane wood, but as no two pieces are the same, your pen will be entirely unique. We carefully select the most striking grain patterns to ensure every Hive pen stands out. Each pen takes approximately three days to craft in our workshop.
