The opener features a solid wood body and polished blade, measuring 170mm (6.7 inches) in total length and weighing 29g for a perfectly balanced feel in hand.

The letter opener arrived in a beautiful box with a personalised message that was much appreciated. The bog oak handle was much darker than I expected (mea culpa) and the engraving was on the handle as opposed to the blade of the opener. This I found surprising but also due to the dark colour of the bog oak, the engraving is difficult to see so I had to point it out and shine a torch on the handle for the recipient. The size was also on the small end but it is beautifully made and finished. It was a refresher on a present I bought for the same person 20 years ago so I am hoping it lasts 20 years too!

I ordered the Whiskey Oak version of the letter opener and requested a small engraving also which turned out lovely. The handle is smooth and the blade is sleek. It comes in a compact box with an information card about the wood so it is perfect for gift giving. Would definitely recommend!

I prefer two different types of woods. One was a little darker than I would have like the other I LOVE. Maybe I missed it on website but didn’t see a guide to finished products
