Irish Oak is known as the "King of the Forest" With its Hight and huge girth, it represents Strength, Courage and Wisdom. Druids revered the tree and held their meetings in Oak groves. The word "Duir", which means the "Door", is linked to the Oak and links the oak to the doorway to wisdom and Knowledge. In Ireland, the main door to the home was made of Oak to protect the house from evil spirits! We have taken this oak and flamed it to bring out even more of its detail—this particular oak came from the floor of the Clontarf Castle in Dublin.
