I was a little dubious as hadn’t seen it in person only the web site. I needn’t have worried as the pen was lovely and the person I was gifting it to loved it.

I am considered what the vast majority of people might call an inveterate fountain pen user, and as like with anything a person has a passion for, you need the correct tools to optimise your experience. My thought process very often overtakes my fluency when writing, and that is why I choose a fountain pen as my ultimate writing instrument, because I am effectively forced to write at a slower pace given me the time to concentrate on bringing the words to life on a page.

The "Walnut and Brass ink blotter" I purchased from Richard at @irishpens.ie, only enhances my enjoyment of the final script. No ink stains, no mess, and certainly no fuss.

The blotter is a generous but comfortable weight, coupled with both ease of use and elegance on any desk. I would highly recommend it.
