Woodland ballpoint Rhodium Burled Elm | Fact Sheet
Your pen is called a
Woodland ballpoint in Burled Elm with jewellery-grade Rhodium and Titanium accents
The wooden body of your pen was hand-turned, the pen assembled, and posted, all from our workshop in Ireland's heritage capital, Kells County Meath, by Catherine & Richard Daly.
- The wood in your pen:
Irish Burled Elm is the heart of your hand-crafted pen, a very rare Irish wood. The grain and colours of this wood are so beautiful. You could say that the patterns are manic; nothing makes sense, making it so rare and different. The Elm came originally from the Midlands of Ireland. We got the wood from a retired clockmaker who had over 30 years of Elm offcuts in his stores, too small for his work but perfect for our pens.
- The trim of your pen:
The pen trim is jewellery-grade Rhodium with Titanium Gold Rhodium accents, which complements the beautiful burled Elm.
- Advance the refill:
To advance and retract the refill, twist the pen cap; the twist mechanism is German-manufactured to deliver a smooth but positive operation.
- The refill in your pen:
Your pen is a ballpoint pen using a Parker-type ballpoint refill. With its oil-based ink, the refill delivers an excellent, easy writing experience. The advantage of the ballpoint is the versatility of surfaces it will write on, it's quick to dry and not prone to smudging. This refill is widely available in all good stationery stores and on our website. Click this link to order the refill for this pen.
- How to change the refill

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago; the next best time is now.
The pen case:
We supply your pen in a stylish black case that will protect it and ensure it is always at hand for use. We moved away from single-use pen boxes because putting a pen box in the bin is not part of our philosophy to reduce waste wherever possible.
