Sheelin English Plane Wood ballpoint pen Titanium and Gold trim
The wooden body of your pen was hand-turned, and the pen was assembled and posted all from our workshop in Ireland's heritage capital of Kells County Meath by Catherine & Richard Daly.
- The wood in your pen:
Your pen is inspired by the 200-year-old English Plane or London Plane tree that stands close to the Book of Kells Experience in Trinity College Dublin. To pay homage to the tree and the Book of Kells, which was safely cared for in our town of Kells ( where your pen was craftted )from the 800s to the mid-1600s, when it was moved to Trinity College Dublin for safe keeping, we have made this pen with English Plane wood, which has a very exotic, distinctive grain pattern and beautiful orangey tea brown colour.

- The refill in your pen:
Your pen is a ballpoint pen using a Parker-type ballpoint refill. With its oil-based ink, the refill delivers an excellent, easy writing experience. The advantage of the ballpoint is the versatility of surfaces it will write on, it's quick to dry and not prone to smudging. This refill is widely available in all good stationery stores and on our website. Click this link to order the refill for this pen.
- How to change the refill
At Irish Pens, we are delighted to pay homage to the woods at the heart of our handmade pen by sponsoring the planting of Native Irish Trees in the forest of Avoca, Co. Wicklow, Ireland, through the Tree Council of Ireland's tree sponsorship scheme. A proportion of the sale of your pen has made this possible.
The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago; the next best time is now.
