Handmade rollerball pen crafted from reclaimed oak barrel wood that once matured Irish whiskey at the renowned Midleton Distillery in County Cork, Ireland.


Catherine and Richard Daly hand-turned, assembled, and posted the wooden body of your pen from our workshop in Ireland's heritage capital, Kells County Meath. 

The wood at the heart of your pen:

Irish Whiskey Oak

The wood in this pen comes from an Irish Whiskey oak barrel, decommissioned from the world-famous Midleton distillery in Co. Cork. We take a stave from the barrel and turn it into this beautiful pen. The colour of the oak has a lovely reddish hue, which comes from the whiskey distilled in it. Turning the pen on the lath generates heat, which liberates the most beautiful aroma of the whiskey it matured; it is like holding a glass of Irish whiskey under your nose. The link between Irish whiskey and the wood from which we craft our pens, and its unique colour, makes pens turned from this wood the perfect gift for the experienced Irish whiskey connoisseur.

The trim is Antique Brass with a Honeycomb design. 
  • The refill in your pen:

Your pen is a rollerball pen using an international-sized rollerball refill. The refill, featuring water-based ink, provides an excellent and easy writing experience. The rollerball's advantage is its super ink flow, allowing your words to flow easily onto the paper. It dries quickly and is less prone to smudging.
