Hive Rollerball in Irish Walnut | Fact Sheet

Your pen is called a

Hive rollerball in Irish Walnut

This pen was chosen especially for you.

A small but meaningful gift to celebrate your words, your thoughts, and the moments you choose to put them to paper. Whether you’re jotting down dreams, writing heartfelt letters, or signing your next big idea, may this pen be a reminder of how powerful your words can be.

Wishing you inspiration with every stroke.

Catherine and Richard Daly hand-turned, assembled, and posted the wooden body of your pen from our workshop in Ireland's heritage capital, Kells County Meath.

The wood at the heart of your pen:

Irish Walnut

The pen's body is made of Irish Walnut, which is sought after for its outstanding beauty and toughness. This wood has a deep, moody, luscious milk chocolate-like colour, finishes smoothly, and will be a talking point whenever the pen is used.

Your pen's wood grain and colour are as individual as your fingerprints.

  • The trim of your pen:
The trim is Antique Brass with a Honeycomb design.
  • The refill in your pen:

Your pen is a rollerball pen using an international-sized rollerball refill. The refill, featuring water-based ink, provides an excellent and easy writing experience. The rollerball's advantage is its super ink flow, allowing your words to flow easily onto the paper. It dries quickly and is less prone to smudging. This refill is widely available in all good stationery stores and on our website. Click this link to order the refill for this pen.

At Irish Pens, we are delighted to pay homage to the woods at the heart of our handmade pen by sponsoring the planting of Native Irish Trees in the forest of Avoca, Co. Wicklow, Ireland, through the Tree Council of Ireland's tree sponsorship scheme. A proportion of the sale of your pen has made this possible.

The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago; the next best time is now.

  •  The pen case:
We supply your pen in a stylish black case that will protect it and ensure it is always at hand for use. We moved away from single-use pen boxes because putting a pen box in the bin is not part of our philosophy to reduce waste wherever possible.

We post our pen in a Jiffy Green padded mailer without bubble wrap. The bag that holds the pen and the information card is fully recyclable.

Over four billion plastic pens and their packaging go to landfills in the USA alone yearly. When the refill is empty, change it and keep using your pen. It's all the small things we do that help the environment.
