Irish Oak is often referred to as the "King of the Forest." Its towering height and immense girth are symbols of strength, courage, and wisdom. The Druids held their meetings in Oak Grove and revered the tree. The word "Duir," which means "door," is associated with the Oak and links it to the gateway of knowledge and wisdom. In Ireland, Oak was the preferred material for the main door of a home, as it was believed to protect the house from evil spirits. This particular oak was taken from the floor of the Clontarf Castle in Dublin and has been flamed to enhance its natural beauty and detail.
